Danielle Janeen Calligraphy is a luxury personalization studio specializing in modern calligraphy, live engraving, heat foiling, and woodburning for weddings, private events, corporate gifting, and experiential brand activations.
I started as a creative outlet during the pandemic and had no idea my little hobby would turn into a growing business.
I help my customers turn ordinary moments into meaningful, memorable experiences through personalized artistry. My work is more than personalization — it creates emotional connection, brand impact, and memorable guest experiences.
If someone wants to start a business, what advice will help them?
I’d advise anyone wanting to start a business to just keep going, consistency matters more than than you know. It’s not going to be easy, there are challenges to getting started but just keep showing.
What is the biggest misconception about your industry?
One of the biggest misconceptions about the calligraphy industry is that it’s “just pretty handwriting.” In reality, professional calligraphy is a skilled art form that requires years of practice, knowledge of materials, design and layout skills, etc. Another misconception is that calligraphy is only for weddings. Today, calligraphy/personalization is heavily used in luxury retail, experiential marketing, corporate gifting, brand activations, and influencer experiences.
What has been one of your biggest struggles building your business and how did you deal with it?
I struggled with imposter syndrome for quite awhile, feeling as if my work wasn’t good enough, would people really want to pay for my services, etc. I fought through it by continuing to hone my skills, stop comparing myself to others and letting my work and client feedback prove that my talent is valuable.
What was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?
Michael Jackson
