Hey! So nice to speak with you! Can you tell our readers a little bit more about yourself? Where are you originally from and where do you live now?

My name is Desiree Fox. I’m originally from NY and now live in Austin, Texas. I’m a founder, inventor, and mother of seven, and much of my work is driven by solving real problems I’ve experienced personally and seen other women face.

Tell us one thing you love about where you live now?

Austin is a place that genuinely supports innovation, entrepreneurship, and family life all at once.

Tell us a little bit more about what your company does and how it started? How does it help your customers?

I founded VWEAR LOVE LLC and invented VXN by VWEAR, a luxury leak-proof legging designed for periods, postpartum recovery, and bladder leaks. It started because I was out on a walk one day, dealing with life, and I got my period and had to turn back. The rage of feeling held back from simple self care is what birthded the VXN leakproof legging. I couldn’t find a solution that was functional, beautiful, and truly supportive of women’s health. Our product helps women live confidently, without fear, discomfort, or compromise.

If someone wants to start a business, what's advice that will help them?

Start with a real problem, not just an idea, make sure its relevant to you, and that you represent a market of consumers. Be willing to learn everything, ask for help, and keep going even when, not if, when you fail and it’s uncomfortable. Consistency matters more than perfection.

What was one feedback from a happy customer/client that you won't forget about?

Desiree your product has changed my life. I finally feel seen and supported in a world I once felt invisible, where my problems were obsolete and didnt matter. And... I feel beautiful and snatched.

Where do you see your company in the future?

I see VWEAR LOVE becoming a global leader in women’s intimate health apparel, expanding into additional solutions while staying rooted in innovation, sustainability, and dignity for all those who have vaginas.

What is the biggest misconception about your industry?

That leakproof, period and postpartum products are “niche” or taboo. In reality, this is a massive, underserved health space that impacts millions of women every day. Literally everyone comes out of a vagina.

What has been one of your biggest struggle building your business and how did you deal with it?

Funding for female owned and led companies. Its a real problem in the small business world. Balancing growth with limited resources has been challenging. I’ve handled it by staying focused, building the right team, and being disciplined about where I invest time and capital.

What was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?

To all my kids who have put up with mom building a company all on her own, my leadership team Tyla my COO and Tara my CFO who never give up believing in our vision and me for leading it, and the women who have shared their stories with me, you’re the reason this exists.

Any shoutouts you want to make?

Shoutouts to some of our biggest supporters Dave and Brenda Hanson, Francesca Mariani, Carla Witt, Eric Eichinger, Neal and Betty Frederick, Matt Bennett, my inimitable wife and director of OSLC Dr. Marija Loncar Hallman, and of course my colleagues in the cause, Dr. Isaac Lopez, Dr. Rachel Wolz, and Joseph David Spence
