Hey! So nice to speak with you! Can you tell our readers a little bit more about yourself? Where are you originally from and where do you live now?

I’m originally from Los Angeles. After completing my doctoral degree program, I spent two years in New England, which gave me a different perspective and new experiences. But ultimately, I felt pulled back home. Los Angeles has always been my foundation—it’s where my family, community, and roots are. Today, I live and practice here, grateful to serve the same region that shaped me.

Tell us one thing you love about where you live now?

What I love most about Los Angeles is its diversity and creativity. Every day feels like a chance to discover something new—whether it’s a cultural event, a piece of art, or simply the vibrant energy of people pursuing their passions. It’s a city that never stops inspiring me.

Tell us a little bit more about what your company does and how it started? How does it help your customers?

I founded Night Owl Psychotherapy to meet a need I saw over and over—adults, especially women with ADHD, who felt misunderstood or overlooked. As someone who has both the professional training and the lived experience of ADHD, I knew I could help in a unique way. I offer online therapy across California, with late-night hours that make care accessible to people with busy or nontraditional schedules. My work helps clients find clarity, confidence, and peace—and most importantly, to feel seen and understood.

What was one feedback from a happy customer/client that you won’t forget about?

A client once said to me, “For the first time, I feel like someone actually gets me.” That’s something I’ll never forget. It was a reminder of why I started Night Owl Psychotherapy—to make sure no one feels alone or invisible in their struggles.

If someone wants to start a business, what's advice that will help them?

Start with your “why.” When you’re clear about your deeper reason, it becomes the anchor that steadies you during tough times. Then build small, simple systems—like consistent routines and boundaries—early on. And don’t be afraid to seek guidance. One good mentor or conversation with a peer can save you from months of trial and error.

Where do you see your company in the future?

I see Night Owl Psychotherapy growing into more than a therapy practice—it will be a community. I’d like to expand into group programs, workshops, and educational resources that make support more accessible, especially for people who may not be ready or able to start individual therapy.

What is the biggest misconception about your industry?

One of the biggest misconceptions is that therapy is only for people in crisis. In truth, therapy is just as valuable when life is “fine.” It can help you build resilience, strengthen relationships, and discover tools that make life easier and more fulfilling. It’s an investment in yourself, not just a safety net.

What has been one of your biggest struggle building your business and how did you deal with it?

Balancing the roles of therapist and business owner was a steep learning curve. At first, I tried to do everything myself and quickly realized it wasn’t sustainable. I started creating systems, setting boundaries, and outsourcing the parts that weren’t in my zone of expertise. Learning to let go of control in some areas gave me the freedom to focus on what I do best—helping clients.

What was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?

Music was a big part of my life growing up. I loved The Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel—their songs are timeless and still resonate with me today. In sports, Billie Jean King and Muhammad Ali were my heroes. They weren’t just champions in their fields; they used their platforms to stand for something bigger, which inspired me deeply.

Any shoutouts you want to make?

Absolutely. I’m grateful for the colleagues, mentors, and friends who supported me along the way—especially other therapists who have shared wisdom and encouragement as I built my practice. I’d also like to recognize the clients who have trusted me with their stories; their courage inspires me every day. And of course, a big shoutout to the Los Angeles community itself—it’s been both my home and my foundation.
