Hey! So nice to speak with you! Can you tell our readers a little bit more about yourself? Where are you originally from and where do you live now?
My name is Robin Dunivan, and I absolutely love owning a coffee shop. With my children grown and building lives of their own, this venture is the next exciting chapter in my life. I spent most of my years in Northwest Arkansas, but for the past three and a half years, I’ve called Fort Worth home—and I truly love it here.
Tell us one thing you love about where you live now?
Fort Worth has the coolest vibe. We get people from all walks of life with all kinds of experiences to share. And, we never run out of new things to do!
Tell us a little bit more about what your company does and how it started? How does it help your customers?
Good Company Coffee was born from a simple but powerful desire—to create a place where people could gather, connect, and belong in the very community we call home. The pandemic reshaped daily life, leaving many of us craving the warmth of face-to-face connection. Our coffee shop is our way of bringing that back—because, really, what’s better than sharing a great cup of coffee with someone you care about? Here, we serve more than just craft coffee, tea, energy drinks, flavored sodas, and fresh food—we serve moments. Whether you’re meeting a friend, studying for an exam, closing a business deal, going on a first date, or simply taking a quiet break from the world, this space is yours. Our semi-private conference room and cozy corners are designed for conversations big and small. Watching people “do life” here—laughing, working, dreaming—has been one of the most rewarding accomplishments of my life. Good Company Coffee isn’t just a shop. It’s a living room for the community.
If someone wants to start a business, what's advice that will help them?
Stay ready for whatever comes your way. Seek out people whose strengths complement your weaknesses. Build a support system you can rely on without hesitation.
What was one feedback from a happy customer/client that you won’t forget about?
Some of the most powerful moments in this coffee shop have nothing to do with coffee at all. I remember the day two families met here for the first time—both had endured the unimaginable loss of a child. We offered them a safe, quiet space to connect, grieve, love, and begin to heal. Watching them share that kind of raw, honest life here left me speechless. Another day, I noticed a young mother curled up in a chair in our nook. She told me this was her safe place—a spot where she could rest for just a little while. Knowing we could provide her with the peace she needed to recharge meant the world to me. I remembered how overwhelming that season of life had been for me, and I was grateful she had somewhere to simply breathe. It’s moments like these—moments of healing, rest, and connection—that remind me why Good Company Coffee exists.
Where do you see your company in the future?
I can’t predict what the future holds, but each day here is both exciting and deeply fulfilling. Whether we one day open another location or this remains our one and only, I’ll be content knowing we’ve created something meaningful.
What has been one of your biggest struggle building your business and how did you deal with it?
In addition to running the coffee shop, I maintain a separate career, and my greatest challenge is time. With more bandwidth, there is so much more I could pursue. For now, I focus on what I can do, and I take comfort in knowing that as long as I give my best, I can be at peace with the outcome
