Founder Interview
Austin Coburn
Build yourself with the same intention you bring to your business. Klicc is an extension of my habits, judgment, and standards. Environment plays a major role, so put yourself…

So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.
My name is Austin Coburn, founder of Klicc MultiMedia. Originally from St. Louis, I’m now based in downtown Chicago. My background includes producing over 500 YouTube videos and building TikTok accounts totaling more than 400,000 followers. I founded Klicc on May 27, 2021, turning that experience into a company built around thoughtful production and lasting relationships.
Tell us one thing you love about where you live now.
Downtown Chicago puts me in the environment where most of Klicc’s work happens. Experiencing the same neighborhoods, spaces, and businesses as our partners gives us a deeper understanding of their audience and standards. Being present also strengthens our relationships with their teams. That familiarity brings a more personal, informed perspective to our work.
Tell us a little more about what your company does and how it started. How does it help your customers?
Klicc provides video production, photography, post-production, graphic design, and social media support across hospitality, architecture, interiors, automotive, luxury lifestyle, and marine. I founded it after years of independent content creation. We’ve served over 135 brands and delivered more than 1,500 videos and 18,000 photos. Our partnership model gives businesses a dedicated media resource that understands their identity and maintains consistency.
If someone wants to start a business, what advice would you give them?
Build yourself with the same intention you bring to your business. Klicc is an extension of my habits, judgment, and standards. Environment plays a major role, so put yourself around people and businesses operating at the level you want to reach. Learn from them, take action, and honor your commitments. Your reputation grows through the experiences people have with you.
What is one piece of feedback from a happy customer or client that you won't forget?
The most meaningful feedback comes from clients who describe Klicc as a lifelong partner. Personal messages about how enjoyable it is to work with our team reinforce why we built a relationship-first company. Knowing clients trust our work and want us involved in their future is one of the strongest endorsements we can receive.
Where do you see your company in the future?
I see Klicc becoming an established media partner across our core industries, with marine as a significant focus. Our experience includes Spring Brook Marine Group, Denison Yacht Sales, and Knot My Boat Charters, filming over 150 boats and covering more than 40 boating events. I want that experience to make Klicc a first consideration for Chicago yacht photography and marine video production.
What is the biggest misconception about your industry?
That effective media comes down to equipment and finished files. Understanding the business and maintaining a relationship matter just as much. Klicc prioritizes people and remains invested beyond delivery. That also guides our approach to AI. Tools can support our process, but creative responsibility belongs to our team. Human judgment, personal connection, and firsthand experience are central to what clients trust us to provide.
What has been one of your biggest struggles building your business, and how did you deal with it?
Learning to grow without compromising quality or personal attention. Early on, I tried to oversee everything myself. I eventually reduced our client roster and became more deliberate about capacity, responsibilities, and communication. That taught me to measure growth by what we can consistently support. My ambition remains high, but I’m more disciplined about how we pursue it.
Who was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?
The Cardinals were a major part of growing up in St. Louis. Producing videos at their 2022 Fantasy Camp in Cooperstown and building relationships with Ozzie Smith, Ted Simmons, David Freese, and David Eckstein felt full circle. Music has also intersected with my work through concert-related productions involving Briston Maroney and Metro Boomin.
Any shoutouts you want to make?
Noah Mooy, our Director of Operations, and our team deserve recognition for their dedication. A special thank-you to Don Goble, my broadcast technology teacher while in high school. Across eight semesters, his guidance and belief in my mission helped lay Klicc’s foundation and develop my creative passion. I consider him a key pillar in the early stages of my career. I’m also grateful to our partners and everyone who has supported me personally.
