So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.

My name is Connie Gable, and I am a retired Family Nurse Practitioner, mother, grandmother and professional Tarot Card Reader. I was born and raised in the Kansas City area, where I learned the importance of family, community, and caring for others.

At age 50, my husband and i took a leap of faith and fulfilled a lifelong dream. We left our familiar roots behind and built a log home high in the mountains of Colorado. For 16 wonderful years, we lived surrounded by the beauty, stillness and wisdom of nature. Those years deepened my appreciation for life's rhythms and strengthened my connection to intuition, reflection and spiritual growth.

In 2020, COVID and the pull of family brought us back to the Kansas City area. With nine grandchildren nearby, it became clear that this season of life was calling us in a different direction. Returning to our roots has given us the gift of being present for the moments that matter most while continuing to follow the paths that inspire our hearts.

Tell us one thing you love about where you live now?

The gift of living through all four seasons once again, and most importantly, sharing everyday moments with our grandchildren.

Tell us a little bit more about what your company does and how it started? How does it help your customers?

My business grew out of a lifelong calling to care for and guide others. Even as a young adult, I was highly intuitive and often experienced precognitive dreams, but I set those gifts aside while raising a family and building a career in healthcare. For many years, I worked as an ICU nurse and later as a Family Nurse Practitioner, helping people navigate some of the most challenging and transformative moments of their lives.

During the quiet and uncertainty of the COVID years, I found myself drawn back to my spiritual path. I immersed myself in the study of near death experiences, explored my abilities as a psychic medium, and eventually discovered tarot. What resonated with me most was that tarot is not about predicting the future. Instead, I use it as a powerful visual tool that helps people access the wisdom, clarity, ad guidance that already exist within them.

Through my readings and programs, I help clients quiet the noise of external expectations, reconnect with their inner knowing, and navigate life with greater confidence and authenticity. Whether someone is facing a crossroads, seeking clarity, or longing for a deeper connection with themselves, my goal is to create a space where insight, healing, and personal growth can unfold.

In many ways, my tarot practice is simply a continuation of the caregiving work I have done throughout my life. My purpose as always been that of a teacher healer, and this business allows me to support people in a more spiritual and intuitive way. I began reading tarot professionally about a year ago through workshops at a local yoga studio. Since then, my practice has grown steadily through word-of-mouth referrals, meaningful client connections, and an expanding online presence.

If someone wants to start a business, what advice will help them?

My advice to anyone starting a business is to begin with your passion and purpose. Spend time exploring what truly lights you up and what unique gifts you have to offer the world. Deep down, most people already know what they are meant to do; sometimes it simply requires quiet reflection and the courage to listen.

Once you have clarity, write down every idea. Dream big, brainstorm freely, and don't limit yourself by what seems possible today. Many successful businesses begin as a simple idea that someone was willing to believe in and pursue.

Take practical steps. Build a website, create a social media presence, and start sharing your message. Don't wait until everything is perfect. Let people know who you are, what you do, and how you can help them. Visibility creates opportunity.

Most importantly, trust the process. Building a business takes patience, persistence, and faith in yourself. There will be challenges along the way, but if your work is aligned with your values and your purpose, you will naturally attract the people who are meant to work with you. Stay open, stay ready, and be willing to grow into the vision you have for yourself and your business.

What was one feedback from a happy customer/client that you won't forget about?

Here is one testimonial from my website. It was a great compliment.

"Connie took the time to really listen to my concern, validate how I was feeling, then embolden my decision making moving forward. I came into the session feeling hesitant and kind of "mousy" but I left feeling on fire and ready to make real, lasting changes in not only myself, but in the world around me." Camille R

Where do you see your company in the future?

In five years, I envision my business continuing to grow into a thriving and sustainable tarot practice, with an expanded offering that includes psychic mediumship services. My goal is to deepen the ways I can support people-helping them connect not only with their own inner wisdom through tarot, but also, when appropriate, with messages and insights that come through mediumship. As the work evolves, I hope to continue building meaningful relationships with clients and creating a practice that feels both grounded and expansive.

What is the biggest misconception about your industry?

One of the biggest misconceptions about tarot is that it is a form of magic or fortune-telling, or that it somehow conflicts with a belief in God or a higher power. In my experience, it is actually the opposite. Tarot is not about predicting or controlling the future, it is about creating a space where a person can connect more deeply with their own inner wisdom and intuition. For many people, that inner knowing feels aligned with something greater than themselves. Rather than replacing faith, it often strengthens it by encouraging reflection, awareness, and a more conscious relationship with one's own guidance system.

What has been one of your biggest struggles building your business and how did you deal with it?

One of the biggest challenges in building my business has been navigating technology. As someone over 50, I've had to learn a wide range of new skills, from website management to social media platforms and digital tools that were not a part of my earlier professional life.

While it's been a learning curve, I've also found it to be surprisingly engaging and even enjoyable at times. I've had to stretch myself, stay patient, and be willing to learn step by step rather than expecting myself to know it all immediately.

At the same time, the heart of my work - connecting and communicating with people - has always come naturally to me. That part has never felt like a struggle. In many ways, I see the technical side as simply the new language I needed to learn in order to share something I've been doing my entire life: supporting, listening, and helping others feel understood and seen.

Who was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?

Growing up, my favorite music artists were, without question, The Beatles. Their music has always felt timeless to me and remains a constant source of joy and nostalgia.

As for sports, living in Kansas City, I've always been a devoted fan of the Kansas City Royals and Major League Baseball. One of my most unforgettable memories is attending Game 6 of the 1985 World Series in person. It was standing room only, and the energy in the stadium was absolutely electric. I can still feel that moment vividly - it's something I will never forget.

Any shoutouts you want to make?

Yes, I would love to give a few heartfelt shout-outs. First, to my family - my husband, children and grandchildren - who have always been my grounding force and greatest source of love and inspiration.

I also want to acknowledge my clients and the community around my work. Every person who has trusted me with their story has helped shape and deepen this practice in meaningful ways.

And finally, I'm grateful to the teachers, mentors, and the yoga studio community where I first began reading tarot professionally. That space gave me the encouragement and confidence to step fully into this path.

I feel very supported in this journey, and I don't take any of it for granted.
