i’llTip is a global freelance and gig economy platform that connects people who need services with skilled professionals who can get the job done — whether it’s in IT, marketing, coaching, home repairs, or countless other categories. What makes us different is our focus on affordability, simplicity, and empowering underserved communities to earn income, build careers, and gain visibility without being drowned out by large platforms. The idea for i’llTip came from a deeply personal place. While pursuing my PhD, I failed a class and had to retake it. At the time, I needed money to cover the added expenses, and like many people in tough situations, I started thinking about ways to earn extra income quickly. That’s when the idea of a side hustle app hit me — a platform where people could offer their skills on their own terms and others could easily find them, hire them, and tip them for a job well done. i’llTip helps customers by giving them instant access to a marketplace of ready-to-work professionals — fast, affordable, and no hassle. At the same time, it empowers service providers to showcase their skills, get hired, and build a better future without needing a huge network or big budget.

What’s the biggest misconception about your industry?

One of the biggest misconceptions about this industry is that quality work is hard to find or unreliable when using gig platforms. In reality, there are countless skilled, dedicated professionals who simply lack visibility. Platforms like i’llTip are breaking that myth by making it easier to connect with affordable, talented service providers — quickly and confidently

What’s one mistake you made in the beginning and what did you learn from it?

The entire journey of building i’llTip has been filled with challenges, but the greatest ongoing struggle is simply keeping the business alive while driving consistent growth. Every day brings its own set of hurdles—whether it’s limited capital and the constant pursuit of funding, developing a product that truly delivers a seamless user experience, or creating the awareness needed to get people to adopt and trust the platform at a significant speed. Beyond the technical and financial aspects, one of the most personal struggles is maintaining the right mindset—bringing energy and focus every single day, even when things are tough. My way of managing this is by stepping back when needed, resetting, and asking God for grace and strength to keep pushing forward. That spiritual grounding gives me the clarity and perseverance I need to keep going
