So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.

Elizabeth Geiger Harvey, AKA Mom or Dr. Harvey, but I answer to most anything! I am home-grown in Moncks Corner and love being a local. I love being able to give back to the community that has supported me my whole life!

Tell us one thing you love about where you live now.

Roots - I love seeing clients as I am out and about town, buying groceries, at church, etc. It is a joy to see people engaging in life with new energy and confidence. I also like that others have eyes on my children - I feel like we look out for one another. Community built on mutual respect and trust is a beautiful gift!

Tell us a little more about what your company does and how it started. How does it help your customers?

Renewal Therapeutics exists to support women in our community through the many stages of life we cover - from puberty, pregnancy and postpartum to menopause. We are here for it all with an expert staff to support all stages of life! We offer wellness services to solve issues such as stubborn weight gain, nutrition counseling, and body contouring to get your body back after building a baby or after hormone dips that change the game. Real solutions for real women. While we are women's health physical therapists, we are also functional medicine practitioners - taking a full-body approach to health. Our flagship program is Strong Foundations (TM), which is designed as a mom and baby program to get new moms off to a great start for the incredible journey of motherhood. We have been awarded Best in Berkeley for Physical Therapy Practice and Pain Management Clinic three years running! This is a reflection of the community we serve.

If someone wants to start a business, what advice would you give them?

Know your "why". You have to keep this at the center of every decision and every sleepless night wondering how you are going to pull this off. This will keep your passion fueled in the right direction when you begin to question your sanity in taking on such an endeavor!

What is one piece of feedback from a happy customer or client that you won't forget?

One client said that she tells her friends that she comes to the "miracle shop"!

Where do you see your company in the future?

I want to expand to help more people. One way we can do this is through our online coaching program for moms set to launch in January 2027 - Strong Foundations. I am really excited about this new phase of Renewal. Being able to sit with more moms to help them in the adventure of motherhood.

What is the biggest misconception about your industry?

Well, I have a lot of women who come to us with long-standing pain who have not been heard. Their concerns have been dismissed, and they have often been prescribed antidepressants rather than being helped by getting to the cause of the issue. There is always a reason and we LISTEN with our hearts and minds so we can find out what the underlying cause is. We view the journey for wellness as a partnership - a joint venture with our incredible clients. And we take a comprehensive approach to health - whereas many practices work in silos.

What has been one of your biggest struggles building your business, and how did you deal with it?

The first step was the hardest - signing a three-year lease. I was scared out of my mind that I might bankrupt my family! I think it's like that for most monumental journeys - whether it's weight loss, becoming a mother, or overcoming chronic pain. Showing up, deciding the work is worth "it". The "it" being your why. It gives you purpose and will help you stay the course on the hard days.

Who was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?

Faith Hill and "This Kiss"!

Any shoutouts you want to make?

I serve with the most amazing group of women - truly! They are compassionate, fun, and dedicated to each client's success. We work hard together to make sure everyone gets exceptional care. Each team member brings their own flavor of healthcare to make sure we take a comprehensive approach to each case.
