Founder Interview
Kobi Julian
My advice would be to begin with a purpose that is greater than the pursuit of financial success. Building a business requires courage, conviction and a willingness to persevere…

So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.
It is a pleasure to meet you as well. I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, and I live in Los Angeles, CA, the place I call home.
Tell us one thing you love about where you live now.
What I love most about Los Angeles is its extraordinary cultural diversity. It is a beautiful melting pot of cultures, traditions, languages and perspectives, where people from all walks of life come together and contribute to the city's unique character. There is something truly special about living in a place where differences are not only embraced but celebrated. Los Angeles offers a sense of belonging while allowing each of us to hold on to the richness of where we come from.
Tell us a little more about what your company does and how it started. How does it help your customers?
Kobi Julian Inc. was born from a deeply personal belief that our experiences, particularly the most challenging ones, do not have to define our limitations. Instead, they can become the foundation for discovering our strength, purpose and potential.
As an author, speaker and coach, my work focuses on empowering women to move beyond fear, self-doubt and the circumstances that have held them back. Through my books, speaking engagements and coaching, I encourage women to recognize their worth, reclaim their confidence and make intentional choices that reflect the lives they truly want to live.
What began as a personal journey of resilience and transformation gradually evolved into a greater purpose: creating a space where women feel inspired, supported and empowered to write the next chapter of their lives on their own terms.
At its heart, Kobi Julian Inc. is about more than personal development. It is about helping women understand that their past may be part of their story, but it does not have to determine their future. I believe meaningful transformation begins when we find the courage to take ownership of our lives and recognize that we have the power to change their direction.
If someone wants to start a business, what advice would you give them?
My advice would be to begin with a purpose that is greater than the pursuit of financial success. Building a business requires courage, conviction and a willingness to persevere when the path becomes uncertain. Passion may inspire you to begin, but it is your belief in what you are creating that will sustain you through the challenges.
I also believe that success should never come at the expense of your values or your integrity. Be willing to learn, remain open to change and never confuse a temporary setback with a permanent failure. Most importantly, build something you can be proud of, not only because of what it accomplishes financially, but because of the difference it makes in the lives of others. To me, the true measure of success is not simply what we achieve, but the purpose and principles we honor along the way.
What is one piece of feedback from a happy customer or client that you won't forget?
One of the most memorable comments I received was from a woman who told me, “You didn't tell me what I wanted to hear. You helped me recognize what I already knew but was afraid to admit to myself.”
What stayed with me was the honesty of her words. Sometimes the most meaningful conversations are not the ones that offer immediate comfort or easy answers, but the ones that challenge us to look at ourselves with greater clarity. Her feedback was a beautiful reminder that a single conversation can leave a lasting impression, not because it changes someone's circumstances overnight, but because it changes the way they see those circumstances.
Where do you see your company in the future?
I envision Kobi Julian Inc. growing into an internationally recognized platform for women's empowerment, personal transformation and purposeful living. My aspiration is to expand beyond books and individual coaching into speaking engagements, workshops, retreats and educational programs that bring women together from different cultures, backgrounds and walks of life.
I want to create opportunities for meaningful conversations, where women can challenge limiting beliefs, discover new possibilities and develop the confidence to pursue their ambitions without compromising who they are.
As the company grows, I want its influence to be measured not only by its professional achievements, but also by the lives it touches and the opportunities it creates for others. My vision is to build something that extends beyond my own voice and becomes a lasting legacy of courage, resilience and empowerment.
Ultimately, I want Kobi Julian Inc. to represent a simple but powerful belief: no matter where a woman begins, her past does not have to dictate how far she can go.
What is the biggest misconception about your industry?
I believe one of the biggest misconceptions about the personal development and coaching industry is that transformation happens simply by thinking positively, staying motivated or following someone else's formula for success. While inspiration can be powerful, meaningful and lasting change requires much more than encouraging words.
Personal growth is not about pretending that life is always beautiful or that every challenge can be overcome with a positive attitude. It requires honesty, self-awareness, accountability and, perhaps most importantly, the courage to confront uncomfortable truths about ourselves and the choices we make.
Another misconception is that coaches have all the answers. I believe the most valuable role of a coach is not to tell someone how to live their life, but to help them recognize their own wisdom, question the beliefs that have limited them and develop the confidence to make decisions aligned with their values.
Ultimately, empowerment is not about creating dependence on someone else's guidance. It is about helping people discover the strength and clarity to move forward independently. To me, that is where meaningful transformation begins.
What has been one of your biggest struggles building your business, and how did you deal with it?
One of the greatest challenges I have faced in building Kobi Julian Inc. has been learning to balance my passion for what I do with the practical realities of entrepreneurship. When you are building something that is deeply connected to your personal values and purpose, it is easy to believe that every opportunity deserves your attention, every responsibility requires your involvement and every challenge must be resolved immediately.
Over time, I came to understand that dedication and overextension are not the same thing. I had to learn that saying yes to everything does not necessarily move a business forward. Sometimes the most important decisions involve recognizing where to invest your time, when to establish boundaries and what deserves your energy.
I began approaching my business with greater intention, learning to distinguish between opportunities that genuinely support my vision and those that simply demand more of my time. It required patience, discipline and a willingness to redefine what productivity and success meant to me.
Perhaps the most valuable lesson has been recognizing that building a meaningful business should not require sacrificing the very life you are working so hard to create. I want Kobi Julian Inc. to grow with purpose and integrity, but I also want that growth to reflect the values I encourage other women to embrace: self-respect, balance, courage and the freedom to make intentional choices.
Who was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?
Interestingly, I never had one particular music artist or athlete I considered my favorite growing up. I've always appreciated talent, creativity and excellence in many different forms rather than following one particular individual. My interests have always been quite diverse, and I suppose I've never felt the need to choose just one favorite.
Any shoutouts you want to make?
I would love to dedicate this shoutout to my parents, whose sacrifices, unconditional love and unwavering commitment gave me opportunities they may not have always had themselves. As I look back on my journey, I recognize that so much of the life I have been fortunate enough to build rests upon the foundation they created for me. Their sacrifices were not always visible, nor were they always spoken about, but their impact has been immeasurable. I carry their love, their strength and the values they instilled in me into everything I do. Whatever I have accomplished, and whatever I may accomplish in the future, will always carry a part of their legacy.
