Founder Interview

Liz Love

My greatest advice to anyone starting a business is to get really clear about your WHY, trust your intuition, and remember that you are the most valuable asset you bring to…

Liz Love, founder of Love Consulting, in a black dress beside a tall window and a vase of pampas grass

So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.

My name is Liz Love, and I’m a mother, ordained minister, singer-songwriter, women’s empowerment coach, sacred sexuality guide for couples, and lifelong student of love and human connection.

Originally from Southern Oregon, I now call the beautiful Texas Hill Country just outside Austin home, where I live with my family and continue cultivating my life’s devotion: helping people remember who they truly are beneath the conditioning, expectations, and stories we’ve inherited.

I grew up immersed in spirituality, music, and the healing arts, beginning my studies in Kundalini Yoga and meditation at just three years old. That foundation eventually led me into decades of exploring sound healing, somatic practices, Tantra, sacred sexuality, and transformational coaching.

Today, I’m the founder of Love Consulting and the creator of The Love Method, a heart-centered approach to authentic expression, intimacy, and personal transformation. Through my work with women, couples, and communities, I create spaces where people can reconnect with their bodies, empower their voices, deepen their relationships, and experience more freedom, pleasure, and love.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: Love is not just something we feel. It’s something we live, embody, and become.

Tell us one thing you love about where you live now.

One of the things I love most about living in the Texas Hill Country is the beautiful balance between nature, creativity, and community. There’s something so special about being surrounded by wide-open skies, ancient oak trees, rolling hills, and the warmth of people who genuinely want to connect.

Coming from Southern Oregon, nature has always been an essential part of my life, and I love that I can still feel deeply connected to the land while being so close to Austin’s vibrant music, arts, and wellness communities, along with our children’s school.

What I love most is the opportunity to cultivate meaningful relationships and create spaces where people can gather, express themselves, and truly belong. To me, home isn’t just a place we live. It’s something we create through the love we share and the community we build.

Tell us a little more about what your company does and how it started. How does it help your customers?

Love Consulting was born from a lifelong devotion to understanding what helps us feel truly connected, expressed, and alive.

My work began nearly two decades ago through teaching yoga, sound healing, and vocal empowerment. What started as a class I created called YogaSong eventually evolved into women’s retreats, intuitive development programs, sacred sexuality education, and transformational coaching for individuals and couples.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing thousands of beautiful moments of transformation. And what I’ve discovered is that beneath so many of our struggles with relationships, confidence, intimacy, and self-expression is a longing to feel safe enough to simply be ourselves.

Today, Love Consulting brings this work together through The Love Method: Listen, Open, Vibrate, Evolve. It’s a methodology rooted in nervous system awareness, somatic practices, authentic communication, and the understanding that love is something we actively practice.

There are three primary pathways to work with me:

Resonate is devoted to vocal empowerment, sound, and authentic expression. It’s about discovering the power of your voice, not just through singing, but through how you communicate, set boundaries, and show up in the world.

Radiance is a sacred space for women to reconnect with their bodies, sensuality, pleasure, and innate feminine wisdom through tantric dance, movement, and embodied practices.

Relate is my work with couples, supporting deeper intimacy, conscious communication, emotional connection, and the cultivation of relationships that feel nourishing, passionate, and alive.

And at the heart of it all is The Love Collective, a growing community devoted to personal transformation, authentic expression, and creating a more loving world together.

Ultimately, I’m not here to tell people who they should become. I’m here to help them remember who they already are.

My greatest joy is witnessing someone reclaim their voice, reconnect with their body, soften into love, or look at their partner with renewed understanding and desire.

Because when we transform the relationship we have with ourselves, we transform the way we love, lead, parent, create, and contribute to the world.

My mission is simple: to help people become the love they wish to experience in the world.

If someone wants to start a business, what advice would you give them?

My greatest advice to anyone starting a business is to get really clear about your WHY, trust your intuition, and remember that you are the most valuable asset you bring to anything you create.

I’ve been an entrepreneur for nearly two decades, and one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that building a successful business isn’t just about having a great idea. It’s about having the courage to believe in that idea long enough to bring it into the world. Also, authentic relationships are literally everything in business!

We live in a culture that encourages us to look outside ourselves for answers. We’re constantly being told what success should look like, how to market ourselves, what to charge, and which strategies to follow. While there is tremendous value in mentorship, education, and learning from others, I’ve discovered that no one else can give you the blueprint for something that only you were born to create.

I’ve made the mistake of giving too much of myself away, undervaluing my work, and believing that if I just worked harder, gave more, or helped enough people, success would naturally follow. What I’ve learned is that generosity without boundaries isn’t sustainable, and honoring the value of your work is an essential part of being able to continue offering it.

I encourage entrepreneurs to build their businesses from a place of alignment rather than urgency. Get clear about your values. Know who you’re here to serve. Be willing to start before everything is perfect, and allow your business to evolve as you do.

And perhaps most importantly, don’t confuse your worth with your productivity or your revenue. Your business is something you’re creating; it isn’t who you are.

I’ve reinvented myself and my work many times over the years, and every evolution has brought me closer to the simplicity of what I was always here to do.

Success, to me, is creating a life where your values, your gifts, your relationships, and your livelihood are all in alignment.

So my advice is this: Be brave enough to begin, humble enough to learn, courageous enough to charge what your work is worth, and wise enough to know when something no longer aligns.

You don’t have to become someone else to be successful. In fact, I believe the greatest gift you can bring to your business is the freedom to be fully, unapologetically yourself.

The key is you. It always has been.

What is one piece of feedback from a happy customer or client that you won't forget?

Over the years, I’ve received so many beautiful messages from clients, but the ones that stay with me aren’t necessarily about the work we did together. They’re about who those people became and how their relationships transformed as a result.

One experience that will always stay with me was when Julie Stenz (of Blessings Day Spa https://www.niwotblessings.com) shared that working with me had changed her life and described her VIP couples session together as the best day of her life.

Those words touched me so deeply because they reminded me why I do this work. To witness someone reconnect with themselves, reclaim their joy, and experience a profound sense of freedom is an extraordinary gift.

I’ve witnessed women who spent decades putting everyone else’s needs before their own begin to recognize their worth, establish loving boundaries, and rediscover their pleasure and passion for life. I’ve witnessed couples move from feeling disconnected and misunderstood to truly seeing, hearing, and choosing one another again.

What touches me most is when someone shares that the work hasn’t just changed their life, but has transformed how they show up for their children, their partners, their friendships, and their communities.

Because that’s what I believe healing and transformation are really about. It’s not just an individual experience. It’s relational. It ripples outward into every life we touch.

Relationships are everything. The relationship we have with ourselves, with one another, with our bodies, with our planet, and with the divine.

When someone tells me they feel more free to be themselves and more capable of giving and receiving love, that is the greatest testimony I could ever receive.

And it’s why I continue doing this work.

Where do you see your company in the future?

I see Love Consulting evolving into something much greater than a business. I see it becoming a movement rooted in authentic expression, conscious relationships, and the understanding that love is one of the most powerful forces for transformation we have.

After nearly two decades of facilitating transformational experiences, teaching, and working intimately with individuals, couples, and communities, I feel like I’m entering a beautiful new chapter of bringing everything I’ve learned into a more accessible and sustainable form.

I’m currently in the process of publishing two books that are incredibly close to my heart.

“The Key Is You” is an invitation to remember that the wisdom, freedom, and love we’re searching for are already within us. It’s deeply connected to The Love Method and the philosophy that has guided my life’s work.

“Even If” is a much more personal journey, a spiritual initiation and love story exploring the profound ways life invites us to surrender, trust, and choose love, even when everything we thought we knew changes.

I’m also envisioning a certification program that will eventually train other facilitators, coaches, and leaders to hold transformational spaces through The Love Method. One of my greatest passions is creating environments where people feel safe enough to be fully expressed, where their bodies can soften, their voices can emerge, and authentic connection becomes possible.

I would love to teach others how to cultivate that same quality of presence, integrity, and compassionate leadership so this work can ripple into communities far beyond the spaces I personally facilitate.

And of course, I see The Love Collective continuing to grow as a community of artists, healers, families, visionaries, and everyday people committed to living love rather than simply talking about it.

Ultimately, my vision isn’t about building something that revolves around me. It’s about creating something that can live beyond me.

I believe relationships are everything, and when we learn to relate to ourselves, one another, and the world through greater awareness and love, we change what’s possible for future generations.

My dream is to see The Love Method become something people practice in their homes, relationships, schools, businesses, and communities.

Because at the end of the day, I don’t just want to build a successful company.

I want to help build a more loving world.

What is the biggest misconception about your industry?

I think one of the biggest misconceptions about my industry is that pleasure, sensuality, and sexuality are somehow separate from personal growth, spirituality, and healing.

Let’s address the elephant in the room. We live in a culture where talking openly about pleasure is still incredibly taboo. We’re comfortable discussing productivity, performance, success, and even suffering, but the moment we begin talking about our bodies, our desires, our sexuality, or what genuinely feels good, the conversation often becomes uncomfortable.

And I find that fascinating because pleasure is such an intrinsic part of the human experience!

We’ve been conditioned to compartmentalize ourselves. Our minds belong in the workplace, our hearts belong in relationships, our bodies belong in the gym, and our sexuality belongs behind closed doors. But we are not separate parts. We are whole beings.

Our bodies are constantly communicating with us. Through sensation, emotion, contraction, expansion, desire, and intuition, we’re receiving information about how we’re experiencing the world. Yet so many of us have been taught to override those signals, suppress our needs, and disconnect from our own innate wisdom.

One of the greatest misconceptions about sacred sexuality and somatic work is that it’s simply about sex. It isn’t. It’s about our relationship with life itself.

Pleasure is not just sexual. Pleasure is the capacity to receive and experience life through our senses. It’s the warmth of the sun on our skin, the sound of music moving through our bodies, the intimacy of being truly seen, the freedom of expressing our truth, and the deliciousness of feeling fully alive.

And pleasure doesn’t mean we’re happy all the time. Being fully embodied means making room for grief, anger, tenderness, longing, joy, and everything in between. It’s about having the capacity to be present with the fullness of our humanity rather than only allowing the parts we’ve been taught are acceptable.

I believe we have an extraordinary opportunity to change the conversation around intimacy, sexuality, and authentic expression by bringing our whole selves to the table.

Because when we learn to listen to our bodies, honor our boundaries, communicate our desires, and cultivate deeper relationships with ourselves and one another, we’re not just transforming our intimate lives. We’re transforming how we parent, lead, create, collaborate, and participate in the world.

We cannot truly embrace the fullness of life while rejecting the very bodies through which we experience it.

My work is about bringing all of us back into the conversation. Our voices, our bodies, our hearts, our sexuality, our spirituality, and our capacity for pleasure.

Not as separate pieces to be fixed, but as beautiful, interconnected expressions of what it means to be human.

And perhaps it’s time we stopped treating pleasure as something we have to earn and started recognizing it as something we’re allowed to experience simply because we’re alive.

What has been one of your biggest struggles building your business, and how did you deal with it?

One of my greatest struggles in building my business has been learning how to honor the value of my work while maintaining the generosity and devotion that inspired me to begin in the first place.

I’ve always been someone who loves deeply, gives generously, and genuinely wants to see people thrive. For years, I believed that if I just kept showing up, serving, giving, and pouring my heart into others, everything else would naturally fall into place.

And while that approach created extraordinary relationships and deeply meaningful experiences, it wasn’t always sustainable.

I’ve had to learn that being of service doesn’t mean being available to everyone, all the time, at the expense of myself. That charging appropriately for my work doesn’t diminish its sacredness. And that boundaries aren’t barriers to love. They’re actually what allow love to flourish.

Another significant challenge has been navigating entrepreneurship alongside motherhood and family life.

First and foremost, I’m a mother, and my family will always come first. We’re also a blended family, which brings its own beautiful complexities, responsibilities, relationships, and rhythms. Being present for my children, nurturing my partnership, and cultivating a loving home are not things I’m willing to sacrifice in pursuit of professional success.

And the truth is, life doesn’t stop happening simply because you’re building a business.

I’ve experienced tremendous personal transitions, heartbreak, unexpected challenges, and seasons where everything I thought I could depend on shifted beneath my feet. There have been moments when I’ve had to step away from my business to prioritize my children, my relationships, and my own well-being.

One of my greatest lessons has been learning to honor the cycles of life and business. There are seasons of tremendous creativity, momentum, and abundance, and there are quieter seasons that can feel flat, uncertain, or even stagnant. I’ve learned not to judge those quieter moments as failure.

Nature doesn’t bloom all year long, and neither do we.

Sometimes we’re planting seeds. Sometimes we’re tending the garden. Sometimes we’re harvesting. And sometimes we’re being asked to rest, replenish, and trust what is growing beneath the surface.

What has helped me navigate these challenges is returning again and again to the very methodology I teach: Listen, Open, Vibrate, Evolve.

Listening to what is actually happening rather than what I think should be happening. Opening to support, new possibilities, and different ways of doing things. Becoming intentional about the energy and values I bring into my work. And allowing myself and my business to evolve.

I’ve also learned that relationships are everything. The people who believe in us, collaborate with us, challenge us, and remind us who we are when we’ve temporarily forgotten are invaluable. Building a business was never meant to be a solitary journey.

Today, I’m much more intentional about creating a business that supports the life I want to live rather than building a life around the demands of my business.

I’ve learned that success without alignment isn’t really success at all.

And perhaps the greatest lesson has been this: I don’t have to sacrifice myself or my family to fulfill my purpose.

I can love deeply, mother wholeheartedly, nurture my relationships, honor my worth, receive support, and build something beautiful and sustainable.

All of those things can coexist.

Who was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?

Growing up, I was deeply inspired by female artists who weren’t afraid to be different. Tori Amos, India.Arie, Erykah Badu, and Alanis Morissette were some of my favorites. I loved their rawness, vulnerability, sensuality, and willingness to express themselves unapologetically. They weren’t just singing songs; they were telling the truth, challenging expectations, and giving other women permission to do the same.

I’ve always been drawn to women who embrace their uniqueness rather than trying to fit into a mold. Artists who make you feel something, who aren’t afraid to be messy, emotional, powerful, or completely unconventional.

As far as athletes go, I’ve always been fascinated by track stars, especially female sprinters! There’s something absolutely exhilarating about watching a woman run at full speed, completely embodied in her strength, determination, and freedom.

I don’t know that I had one favorite athlete as much as I admired women who pushed the boundaries of what was considered possible.

Looking back, I can see the common thread. I’ve always been inspired by women who are courageous enough to be fully themselves, whether that’s through their voices, their bodies, their artistry, or their athleticism.

There’s something incredibly beautiful about witnessing a woman in her element, completely unleashed and unapologetically alive.

Any shoutouts you want to make?

Oh, absolutely! There are so many extraordinary souls who have shaped my life, and I would love to honor a few of them.

Lourdes Starshower, my beloved Dakini mentor, whose teachings and embodiment of sacred feminine wisdom have profoundly influenced my relationship with intimacy, pleasure, and the sacredness of being human.

Kim Ross Keller, my beautiful pleasure priestess mentor, who crossed the rainbow bridge this year. Kim was an extraordinary embodiment of love, sensuality, laughter, and devotion. Her teachings and the way she lived so fully and unapologetically continue to inspire me. I carry her wisdom and her laughter in my heart.

My father, Siri, whose prolific thoughts, wisdom, and lifelong devotion to consciousness and truth have shaped so much of how I see the world. I’m endlessly grateful for the depth of our conversations and the ways he continues to expand my perspective.

My mother, Serene, whose spiritual wisdom and devotion to creating heaven on earth helped awaken my own knowing that we are here for something greater than ourselves. She instilled in me a deep understanding that heaven isn’t simply somewhere we hope to go, but something we have the opportunity to cultivate right here, through the way we live, love, and care for one another. Her guidance helped shape my life’s mission to love more, to see the divine in all things, and to leave this world more beautiful than we found it.

My partner, Markus, who is such a beautiful anchor in our blended family. His love, presence, humor, and devotion remind me daily that relationships are truly where so much of life’s greatest beauty and transformation unfold.

My children, Amira and Josiah, who are continually teaching me next-level ways toward love and of love. They are two of my greatest teachers, constantly inviting me to expand my heart, question what I think I know, and discover new depths of patience, compassion, presence, and unconditional love. Motherhood has been one of the most profound initiations of my life, and I am endlessly grateful for the privilege of growing alongside them.

And my beautiful bonus daughter, Heidi, who brings so much joy, laughter, playfulness, and light into our home. She is such a treasured part of our blended family, and I love the beautiful ways our lives and hearts continue to grow together.

And Caryn Carruthers, whose beautiful music has healed my heart time and time again. Her book, “Bowl Theory,” offers such a creative and meaningful way of approaching life, and I genuinely believe everyone would benefit from reading her book. She has a remarkable gift for weaving wisdom, creativity, and healing into the world.

I’m reminded again and again that none of us becomes who we are alone. We are shaped by the people who love us, challenge us, teach us, inspire us, and sometimes simply sit beside us through the unknown.

Relationships are everything. And I am who I am because of the extraordinary people who have walked beside me.

What a gift it is to love and be loved by such remarkable humans.
