So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.

My name is Dr. Sharon M. Jones, and I’m delighted to share a bit of my story with the readers of Business Stories Magazine. I was born and raised in Jamaica, a place whose vibrant culture, faith-filled foundation, and deep sense of community shaped the way I lead, serve, and create.

Today, I am based in Florida, where I continue expanding my work as a Christian counselor, founder, creator, and storyteller — building platforms that bring emotional clarity, spiritual grounding, and transformational impact to individuals and organizations around the world.

Tell us one thing you love about where you live now.

One thing I absolutely love about where I live now is the beaches — not just for their beauty, but for the accessibility they give me to ground and center myself while connecting with nature. The shoreline has become a personal sanctuary for me. When I sit in my car and look out at the water, I can feel my spirit settle, my thoughts slow down, and my breath deepen. The waves create a rhythm that helps me release tension, refocus, and return to truth.

It’s a place where I can practice grounding, reconnect with God’s peace, and let nature restore clarity in a way that supports both my work and my wellbeing.

Tell us a little more about what your company does and how it started. How does it help your customers?

The story of my company is deeply connected to my personal and professional journey. From 2011 to 2013, I worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist, serving in various county agencies across Northern California. Those years gave me a front‑row seat to the emotional, relational, and systemic challenges people face every day. Later, my work briefly expanded into the prison system in Jacksonville, Florida, where I supported individuals navigating trauma, identity struggles, and emotional instability within one of the most difficult environments imaginable.

In 2013, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with colon cancer. That season reshaped me. I returned to California. After surgery and treatment, with a renewed sense of purpose, clarity, and spiritual sensitivity, I knew God was preparing me for a new chapter. By 2016, God released me to shift my focus from traditional therapy to serving the faith‑based holistic population as a Christian Counselor and Certified Life Coach. This transition allowed me to integrate faith, emotional wellness, and practical tools in a way that honored the whole person — spirit, soul, and body.

During those years, I encouraged every client to journal and practice breathing exercises as part of their healing rhythm. I also taught them the My 3 Tiers Emotional Clarity Model, a framework I had developed over time to help people understand their emotions, examine their thoughts, and reconnect with truth.

As I continued using the model, God inspired me to turn it into a structured journal, giving people a guided way to process their emotions daily. That journal became the foundation for something even greater — the My 3 Tiers Emotional Clarity App, a digital tool designed to make emotional clarity accessible anywhere, anytime.

The My 3 Tiers Emotional Clarity App empowers individuals to:

• Process emotions clearly — using the same tiered structure I taught in counseling sessions.

• Build grounding habits — through journaling prompts, breathing exercises, and reflection tools.

• Reduce emotional overwhelm — by breaking emotional experiences into manageable steps.

• Strengthen spiritual alignment — reconnecting emotions with faith, identity, and truth.

• Improve communication and relationships — because clarity leads to healthier conversations and deeper understanding.

What began as a traditional counseling career has grown into a faith‑centered emotional clarity movement — one that helps people heal, reflect, and rise with confidence.

If someone wants to start a business, what advice would you give them?

If someone wants to start a business, the most helpful advice I can offer is to begin with clarity rather than speed. When you understand your purpose, your assignment, and the problem you’re called to solve, you build from a place of strength instead of confusion. A successful business grows out of what you already do well — your lived experiences, your natural gifts, and the solutions people consistently come to you for. Focus on solving a real problem for real people, because transformation is the foundation of sustainability. Start small but structured: define your offer, create simple systems, and make it easy for people to find you and work with you. Entrepreneurship will stretch you, so invest in your emotional and spiritual resilience; grounding practices, journaling, and clarity tools help you make wise decisions under pressure. Embrace discomfort as part of the journey, and don’t wait for perfection — launch the first version and let it evolve. Above all, stay aligned with God’s direction, because when your business is rooted in calling, you move with courage, peace, and confidence.

What is one piece of feedback from a happy customer or client that you won't forget?

One piece of feedback from a happy client that I will never forget came from someone who told me that, for the first time in their life, they finally understood what they were feeling, why they were feeling it, and how to respond with clarity instead of panic. They said the My 3 Tiers Model “gave them their voice back” and helped them break a cycle of emotional overwhelm they had been trapped in for years. That moment stayed with me because it confirmed that emotional clarity isn’t just a concept — it’s freedom. Hearing a client say, “I feel like I can breathe again,” reminded me why this work matters and why God entrusted me with this model in the first place.

Where do you see your company in the future?

I see my company growing into a global emotional‑clarity movement — one that reaches far beyond counseling rooms and coaching sessions. The future of My 3 Tiers Emotional Clarity is rooted in expansion, accessibility, and impact. I envision the app becoming a widely used tool for individuals, families, churches, and organizations who need a simple, faith‑centered way to understand their emotions and respond with wisdom. I see partnerships with national programs, re‑entry initiatives, youth organizations, and wellness networks that want to bring emotional clarity into their communities. I also see books, courses, and live events that deepen the teaching behind the model, giving people practical ways to heal, grow, and stay grounded. Ultimately, I see the company becoming a trusted leader in faith‑based emotional wellness — a place where people around the world can find clarity, peace, and transformation.

What is the biggest misconception about your industry?

The biggest misconception about the emotional‑wellness and counseling industry — especially the faith‑based side of it — is the belief that people only seek support when something is “wrong” with them. Many assume counseling, emotional clarity tools, or wellness apps are only for those who are broken, unstable, or in crisis. In reality, the work we do is about growth, grounding, and understanding, not labeling or diagnosing. Emotional clarity is not a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of wisdom.

Another misconception is that faith‑based emotional wellness is somehow “less professional” or “less structured” than traditional therapy. The truth is, faith‑centered emotional work is deeply holistic — addressing the spirit, soul, and body — and often provides the kind of grounding, identity work, and clarity that traditional models overlook. People are surprised to learn how structured, practical, and transformative the My 3 Tiers Emotional Clarity Model is, and how it helps individuals move from overwhelm to peace with simple, accessible tools.

What has been one of your biggest struggles building your business, and how did you deal with it?

One of my biggest struggles in building my business was learning how to grow while healing at the same time. After working for county agencies in Northern California, serving inside the Jacksonville, FL prison system, and then facing colon cancer in 2013, I returned to California with a calling but also with limitations. I had vision, experience, and a God‑given assignment — but I didn’t yet have the strength, resources, or clarity to build the way I imagined.

The struggle was learning how to honor my pace without abandoning my purpose. I had to rebuild my health, rebuild my confidence, and rebuild my understanding of what God was asking me to create. Instead of rushing, I leaned into emotional clarity, journaling, breathing exercises, and prayer — the same tools I taught my clients. I focused on small, consistent steps, trusting that obedience would open doors that effort alone could not.

Over time, God gave me the strategy, the creativity, and the resilience to move forward. That’s how the My 3 Tiers Emotional Clarity Model, the journal, and eventually the app were born — not from perfection, but from perseverance, healing, and divine direction. My struggle taught me that building a business isn’t just about systems and strategy; it’s about spiritual alignment, emotional resilience, and trusting God with the timing.

Who was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?

Growing up, my favorite music artist was Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and her powerful, faith‑filled lyrics became a source of strength for me — especially during the early days of developing my business. Her music carried the kind of bold encouragement I needed to keep moving forward.

My favorite athlete was Usain Bolt, whose confidence, discipline, and ability to rise under pressure inspired me deeply, especially because I ran track and field in my younger years. Watching him dominate the world stage reminded me of the resilience, focus, and determination that track had taught me — qualities that later became essential in my journey as a founder.

Any shoutouts you want to make?

I want to give a heartfelt shout‑out to my incredible support system — my husband, Donovan Sr., and my children: J’eannine, Donovan Jr, David, D’anthony, my 2 loves (not in-laws) Jordan, Aleah, DeAngelina, and Victoria. Each of them has been a source of strength, joy, and motivation throughout my journey. I also want to honor my mother, Norma, whose wisdom and love have grounded me in every season. And to my grandchildren — Donovan Lamonte, Mia, Olivia, Caleb, J’ennae, Gavin, and Ruby — you are the light that keeps me dreaming bigger and building with purpose. My family is my foundation, and their encouragement has carried me through every challenge and every victory.
