Tyler Batliner, founder of HAGS Clothing

So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.

My name is Tyler Batliner, and I’m the founder of HAGS Clothing. I’m from Kansas City, Missouri, where I’m currently based. I’m also a content creator known as TheRealTbat. I’ve built a community of more than 200,000 followers and generated over 80 million views. My experience creating content and connecting with people online played a major role in giving me the confidence to start a brand of my own.

Tell us a little bit more about what your company does and how it started? How does it help your customers?

HAGS Clothing is a lifestyle and gameday apparel brand that gives people an affordable way to represent their favorite teams, college towns, and summer memories. The company began after I found “HAGS,” meaning “Have a Great Summer,” written in one of my old yearbooks while I was recovering from leg surgery. That nostalgic message inspired me to turn the phrase into a clothing brand.

Since then, HAGS has grown beyond summer. It can mean “Have a Great Saturday,” “Have a Great Season,” or simply “Have a Great Something.” Through affordable hats, shirts, hoodies, and other apparel, HAGS helps customers show pride in the places and experiences they love while carrying a positive message into whatever moment or season they are enjoying.

Where do you see your company in the future?

I see HAGS growing into a nationally recognized lifestyle and gameday apparel brand. I want to continue expanding into more college towns, creating original products, and building partnerships with creators, ambassadors, retailers, and other brands. Eventually, I would love to see HAGS products sold in stores across the country. Most importantly, I want HAGS to remain affordable and stay true to its original message encouraging people everywhere to “Have a Great Something.”

What has been one of your biggest struggle building your business and how did you deal with it?

One of the biggest struggles for me has been the money you have to put up front and getting people to actually trust a new brand enough to buy from it. When you’re first starting out, people don’t really know who you are or what to expect, so building that trust takes time. I’ve dealt with it by staying consistent, putting out new products, listening to customers, and trying to make HAGS better little by little. As more people started buying, wearing the clothes, and supporting the brand, it helped build that trust and gave me more confidence to keep putting money back into the business.

Where can our readers learn more about you and your company?

The best place to check out HAGS is our website at www.hagsclothing.com or follow us on Instagram and TikTok. You can also find me on social media as TheRealTbat, where I share more of my personal content and what I’m working on with HAGS. I’m always trying to grow the brand, release new stuff, and bring people along for the journey.
