So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.

Nice to meet you too! My name is Ginny Foletta. I was born and raised in California. I spent the first five years of my childhood on a ranch in Northern California, which is where my lifelong love for animals began. I have lived in Southern California most of my adult life and currently live in San Marcos, just north of San Diego.

Tell us one thing you love about where you live now?

I love the climate and being in close proximity to the beach!! I moved back to the area in 2024, after living part time in Costa Rica with my partner. I loved living in the jungle surrounded by nature and wildlife, but the humidity and rain were very difficult to acclimate to. When my first grandson was born I knew it was time to come home. Both of my grown children live in California and I now have 4 grandkids! I am grateful to live close enough to be able to spend time with them on a regular basis.

Tell us a little bit more about what your company does and how it started? How does it help your customers?

I started my small online business, Heart to Heart Animal Communication and Energy Healing, in April of 2025, in honor of my beloved Dachshund Harley, who led me to this work before his passing 3 years ago. I truly believe I was guided to this path to help animals and their human guardians heal and connect on a deep, soul level. I am an animal communicator and energy healer for animals. In other words, I connect with animals on an intuitive level using telepathy: the transference of feelings, words and images without audible speech. I help people build a deeper bond with their animals by gaining insights from the animal's perspective. I work with behavioral challenges, newly adopted animals, those going through transitions (e.g. moving, new baby, new pets in household), physical challenges and end-of-life. I also connect with beloved animals in spirit who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. My real passion is to assist animals in releasing trauma, anxiety, grief and other emotional imbalances that contribute to illness. Like humans, animals can have trauma stuck in their bodies and if left there it can manifest into both emotional and physical issues. I use various energy healing modalities, such as EFT/tapping, the Emotion and Body Code and Bioscaler Wave, (which includes chakra balancing), to help animals release the trapped emotions and energetic imbalances that are weighing them down. I work mostly remotely, connecting with each animal through a photo. I have found that my remote communication and healing sessions are even more effective than in person because there are no outside distractions.

Distance is not an issue in energy work and I have clients all over the country, as well as in Costa Rica, where I began my case studies. I also volunteer weekly doing energy work in person on the dogs at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. Animals are eager to communicate and are incredibly receptive to energy work! I have seen some amazing shifts take place in a short time when animals release their emotional baggage. I have also witnessed how energy work can enhance the quality of life of both my own animals and those of clients during times of illness. It is incredibly rewarding, meaningful work!

If someone wants to start a business, what advice will help them?

To quote Wayne Dyer, "Don't die with your music still in you"! Be brave and share your passion, purpose and gifts with the world, rather than suppressing your true calling out of fear or conformance to other people's expectations. It takes courage to start a new business. Dream big, but start slow! It takes time to get established and have clients/customers find you. Setbacks happen, but don't let them discourage you from following your dream!

What was one feedback from a happy customer/client that you won't forget about?

I have several amazing stories of transformation working with client's animals, but one in particular stands out. Last year I had a client who came to me incredibly distraught when her 12 year old Miniature Schnauzer, Finn, was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma. The vet gave Finn no more than 3 months to live. After our initial reading and energy healing session I suggested some dietary changes and supplements to boosts Finn's immune system. While I'm not a nutritionist, I am quite knowledgeable about holistic wellness for pets. Finn's guardian opted out of the traditional medical approach to cancer (other than prednisone) and instead chose to have me connect remotely with him every 10 days for energy work. It was 7 months later before Finn finally crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Here is an excerpt from my client's review on Google: "I'm so grateful for Ginny's big heart and gifts!! Finn more than doubled the time he was given to live with stage 4 lymphoma. He was able to have lots of adventures and fun and we were able to love on him until it was his time to go over the Rainbow Bridge. Ginny was a huge contributing factor in Finn's energy being so vibrant for so long. After her sessions Finn would really come alive with energy and vitality!! It always amazed me to see the difference after an energy session with Ginny. Thank you Ginny. We so appreciate you and please continue your work because it is so needed!!" I never met Finn face to face, but I grew to know and love him and he will forever be in my heart. This is why I'm called to this work. I truly believe it makes a difference!

Where do you see your company in the future?

My mission is to give animals a voice. In the future, I envision a world where interspecies communication is accepted and normalized, not seen as something fringe for the select few. I see myself compassionately supporting the emotional and physical healing of as many animals and their humans as possible, while also helping them to deepen their mutual understanding. I visualize doing podcasts and teaching classes to empower people to connect intuitively with their own pets, as well as guiding them through simple techniques in energy medicine to support their healing. I would also love to work alongside holistic veterinarians to support healing from an energetic perspective and give animals a voice in their recovery process. The possibilities are endless and I am open to wherever I am guided to be of service!

What is the biggest misconception about your industry?

Many people still consider animal communication as woo-woo and are skeptical about it's accuracy and validity. The reality is we are all born with intuitive and telepathic abilities. It is not limited to those who have a gift. This is how infants are able to communicate their needs before they acquire language. Once we learn to talk we stop using these telepathic "muscles" and they atrophy. Through stillness, meditation and practice we can all learn to tap into these subtle senses again. As for energy medicine, we now know from quantum physics that everything is energy and Western science finally recognizes the mind/body/emotion/spirit connection, something that Eastern cultures have known for millennia. Nothing woo-woo about it!

What has been one of your biggest struggles building your business and how did you deal with it?

I naively thought that once my website was live people would "magically" find me and I would have a wait list for my services! I had no idea that I would have to market myself in order to gain visibility. As a teacher in my previous career, I had no experience whatsoever with marketing. I'm not a huge fan of social media, but I had to go back online to have some sort of presence for people to discover my business. I walked through a lot of fear in the first few months of my business as I learned how to promote my services in what felt like an authentic way. I do much better with people one on one and I found that in person connections at dog events, church, spiritual/metaphysical conventions and holistic gatherings to be the best avenues to organically talk about my work as I connect with like-minded people. Even though I'm on Google, Facebook and Instagram, most of my clients up to this point have been word of mouth referrals.

What was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?

At the risk of dating myself, I would have to say Earth, Wind and Fire. High vibe, soulful music to lift your spirits!

Any shoutouts you want to make?

Yes! A big shoutout to my son, Ryan Foletta, for building my website! Also, to my teacher, Joan Ranquet and her school Communicate With All Life University. With over 30 years of experience as a professional animal communicator and energy healer and author of 4 books, she is a wealth of knowledge and has given credibility to this profession.
