So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.

My name’s Kobby Koomson, or KK for short. I was born in a small village in Ghana called Prestea, then I moved to the UK at around 6, and I’ve been living in London ever since.

Tell us one thing you love about where you live now.

One thing I love about where I live now is that there’s so much raw talent in my area, and specifically, within my area everything I need is in close proximity. I don’t need to travel far.

Tell us a little more about what your company does and how it started. How does it help your customers?

KoomsonHQ is an AI creative studio. We build worlds for brands. Most small brands need campaign-level visuals to compete but can’t afford a photoshoot, a crew and models, so we create it all with AI: campaign images, cinematic brand films and UGC-style ads, from £250 instead of thousands.

It started with my own clothing brands. I learned AI to make visuals for them, then I remembered a word spoken over my life and saw how big this moment really is. So instead of keeping the skill for my brand, I built an agency to do it for others.

Why worlds? God made the earth in its fullness first, then placed man inside it. A brand works the same way. Your product is the centre, and we build everything around it: the characters, the locations, the look, the story, so every visual feels like it belongs. That’s what makes a small brand look expensive and stay remembered.

If someone wants to start a business, what advice would you give them?

Make sure Jesus is your CEO. Consult God, because He knows the end of a thing from its beginning; therefore only He can establish you. You cannot build alone, because it gets to a point where the world may want to take your soul, but when you have Jesus, He will preserve you.

What is one piece of feedback from a happy customer or client that you won't forget?

I built a website for Michael Jibowu, a mentor who works with parents, schools and young people. I didn’t just make it look good. I built him an admin system so every enquiry comes in already sorted by parents, schools and programme, with a status he can track from new to call booked.

A few days after launch he sent me a voice note:

“Brother Kobby, I’m calling you to commend you, this website has built me so much structure, it’s a gold mine bro. I’m not gonna forget you bro.”

Then he posted it on his status for everyone to see.

He said he won’t forget me, and I won’t forget that either. His work changes young people’s lives, and now what he’s built is organised enough to grow. That’s what I want KoomsonHQ to do for every client.

Where do you see your company in the future?

Well, I started my career as an apprentice at Publicis Media, one of the biggest media groups in the world, so I’ve seen up close what a global agency looks like. That’s where I’m taking KoomsonHQ, by God’s grace. I see a studio with a team of creatives and offices in London and beyond, building worlds for brands everywhere, from small businesses getting their first campaign to the big names I used to plan media for. My first clients back then were Meta & WhatsApp, so I’d be honoured to work with them again at KoomsonHQ. It starts with what I’m doing now, getting better every day and making sure every client gets served work that actually grows and impacts their business.

What is the biggest misconception about your industry?

That AI is just pressing a button. Anyone can generate visuals now, so people think you type a sentence and a finished campaign comes out. The tools are just the camera. You still need the eye, the story, the direction, the creativity, the taste and hours of testing to get something that looks real and sells. That’s why so much AI content looks like slop, and it’s why the work I do at KoomsonHQ doesn’t. I still come at it like a student, getting 1% better every day.

What has been one of your biggest struggles building your business, and how did you deal with it?

I’d definitely say trying to do everything at once. I kept starting new ideas before the last one had made money, and at one point I felt like a failed entrepreneur, so I stepped back and took a job.

On top of that, AI isn’t cheap. The tools, the subscriptions and the credits all add up, and I’m also providing for my children. So I’ve had to sacrifice a lot of the enjoyment and pleasure people my age have, so I can keep building and keep my kids looked after. Most people only see the finished work. They don’t see what it costs.

That season taught me focus. When I came back, I put everything into one thing, KoomsonHQ, and that’s when the real clients came, like Michael. I wouldn’t change it, because it made me who I am.

Who was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?

I think it was Tinie Tempah lol, and for athletes there were many footballers actually: Leo Messi, Mesut Özil, Jack Wilshere, Ousmane Dembélé, Neymar, Ben Arfa, Emre Mor, Paul Pogba, Iniesta and so many other creative players.

Any shoutouts you want to make?

I want to thank my God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, because my life hasn’t been easy, but He has been faithful and preserved me. I also want to thank my pastor, as well as my brothers Daniel, Joseph, Dwan & Jevoni, who never gave up on me but continued to stand with me and encourage me through every storm. I am grateful.
