So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.

My name is Riah Greathouse. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and I still call it home today. It's a city that has shaped who I am, and I'm proud to be from here.

Tell us one thing you love about where you live now?

What I love most about Atlanta is the people. It’s a true melting pot, with people from every background, ethnicity, and walk of life. There’s a level of diversity here that creates opportunities for people who may not have had the same chances elsewhere. Atlanta has always been at the forefront of progress, championing civil rights, diversity, and inclusion. I love being part of a city that continues to create opportunities and encourages everyone to pursue their version of the American Dream.

Tell us a little bit more about what your company does and how it started? How does it help your customers?

My background is in law. I started as a prosecutor and later worked at a plaintiff’s firm. Throughout those experiences, I saw things that I felt could be done differently. Too often, clients were treated like case files or numbers instead of people.

When I started my firm, I wanted to build something centered around the client experience. We make it a priority to truly listen to our clients, understand their situations, and be accessible throughout the process. Our goal is to provide personalized representation and ensure every client feels valued and supported.

Because of that approach, our firm has grown primarily through word of mouth. Our clients have become our biggest advocates, referring friends and family because they know they'll receive the same level of care and attention that they did.

If someone wants to start a business, what advice will help them?

It all starts with a vision. Whatever idea or dream you have, the first step is getting it out of your head and onto paper. Take the time to map it out, define your goals, and create a clear plan for what you're trying to build. Once you can see it in front of you, you've already won half the battle. From there, the most important thing is to take action. Trust yourself, commit to the process, and go for it.

What was one feedback from a happy customer/client that you won't forget about?

As a business owner, the feedback that tends to stay with me the most is actually the constructive criticism. I'm always looking for ways to improve, so when someone feels they didn't receive the value or service they expected, I take that seriously. It pushes us to continually refine our processes, improve our service, and make sure every client feels truly taken care of.

That said, the feedback I'll never underestimate is a simple "thank you." We've helped thousands of clients over the years, and it means a lot when someone takes the time to say, "Thank you for fighting for me," or "I'm glad I chose you." When a client tells us they'll recommend us to their friends and family because of the experience they had, that's incredibly meaningful. Knowing we've earned their trust and made a positive impact is what stays with me the most.

Where do you see your company in the future?

I see us continuing to get bigger and better. GreatHouse Trial Law has done amazing things in Atlanta, and now, as we expand into other cities, including Chicago as Flynn Greathouse, I see us continuing to do the same. Our goal is to help more people while providing the same level of service and care that has been the foundation of our success.

As we grow, we'll remain focused on making sure our clients feel supported and well-represented. If we can continue delivering great results and exceptional service to more communities, that's exactly where I want to see the company headed.

What is the biggest misconception about your industry?

One of the biggest misconceptions about personal injury attorneys is that they're all jerks, only care about money, and don't genuinely care about the people they're helping. For me, that's simply not true.

Of course, I want to maximize the value of every case, but that's because my clients' success is directly tied to my firm's success. If my clients don't get paid, neither do I. My goal has always been to help people navigate difficult situations and fight for the best possible outcome on their behalf.

What many people don't realize is that personal injury law is a contingency-based business. My firm invests significant time, resources, and money into every case before seeing any return. Because of that, I have to make calculated decisions about which cases I can realistically help with and successfully pursue. Unfortunately, that means I can't take every case that comes through the door.

I think some people misunderstand those decisions, which can contribute to the negative perception of the industry. At the end of the day, my responsibility is to help as many people as possible while ensuring my firm can continue providing exceptional service and support to every client we represent.

What has been one of your biggest struggles building your business and how did you deal with it?

One of the biggest challenges I've faced as a business owner has been overcoming self-doubt. As entrepreneurs, we can be our own biggest advocates, but we can also be our own harshest critics. There have been moments when I've questioned myself, dealt with imposter syndrome, or wondered whether things were going to work out the way I hoped.

What I've learned is that those feelings are a natural part of the journey. The key is not letting them stop you from moving forward. Every challenge I've faced has taught me something, and time and time again, things have worked out. That's the mindset I try to hold onto—trusting the process, staying focused on the work, and remembering that setbacks and doubts are temporary, but persistence pays off.

Any shoutouts you want to make?

I'd like to give a shoutout to my family. Their support has been instrumental from the very beginning, both in starting this business and continuing to grow it. They are my biggest source of motivation and the reason I work as hard as I do every day.

Everything I'm building is ultimately about creating a lasting legacy for the people I love. Their encouragement, belief in me, and support throughout the journey have made all the difference.
