So nice to meet you! First off, what’s your name? Tell our readers a bit about yourself—where you’re from originally and where you live now.
My name is Vanessa Chinopoulou-McCoy, and I’m the owner of NostimoTX.com. I’m originally from Athens, Greece, and my Greek heritage and love of food have always been a meaningful part of who I am. Today, I’m based in Dallas, Texas, where I’ve built Nostimo Texas around my passion for sharing the flavors and warmth of Greek culture with my community. I’m excited to bring a little taste of Greece to the U.S. and beyond and to connect people through food and the stories behind it.
Tell us one thing you love about where you live now?
One thing I absolutely love about living in Dallas is how wonderfully diverse the community is. You meet people from so many different cultures and walks of life, and I think that diversity has created a real openness to trying new things. People here are always looking for unique, flavorful, and healthy options, which makes Dallas such an exciting place to share something different and authentic. It’s a city that embraces new ideas, and I love being part of that.
Tell us a little bit more about what your company does and how it started? How does it help your customers?
NostimoTX started from my love of Greek food and the simple idea that healthy food should also be delicious and exciting. I wanted to create something that brings the authentic flavors and spirit of Greece while offering people wholesome options they can feel good about enjoying.
At NostimoTX.com, we focus on sharing Greek-inspired Fruit Spoon Sweets that are nourishing and rooted in tradition. We help our customers discover something different from the typical food options available to them, whether they’re looking for healthier choices, exploring Mediterranean flavors, or simply wanting to enjoy the taste and hospitality of Greece.
What makes it especially meaningful to me is that NostimoTX.com is about more than food. It’s about creating a connection between cultures and making Greek flavors accessible to everyone. My goal is for every customer to experience a little bit of Greece and leave thinking, “Nostimo!”—which means “delicious!”
If someone wants to start a business, what advice would you give them?
My advice is to start with passion, stay authentic, and don’t be afraid to be different. Listen to your customers, be willing to adapt, and remember that building a business takes patience and consistency. Most importantly, believe in what you’re offering and keep going, even when things get challenging.
What was one feedback from a happy customer/client that you won't forget about?
One comment I’ll never forget was from a customer who had traveled to Greece and told me that our Fruit Spoon Sweets brought back wonderful memories of their trip. They loved that they could experience those authentic Greek flavors again. That meant so much to me because it’s exactly what I hope NostimoTX.com can create—a little taste of Greece that brings people back to a place they love.
Where do you see your company in the future?
I see NostimoTX.com growing into a trusted destination for authentic, healthy Greek flavors across the U.S. and beyond. I’d love to reach more people, introduce them to the Mediterranean way of eating, and continue sharing the culture and flavors of Greece with the community.
What is the biggest misconception about your industry?
I think the biggest misconception is that healthy food has to be boring or lack flavor. At NostimoTX, we want to show people that you can enjoy delicious, authentic Greek flavors while choosing wholesome, unprocessed options.
What has been one of the biggest struggles in building your business, and how have you dealt with it?
One of my biggest struggles has been explaining what our Fruit Spoon Sweets actually are. People often think they’re a spread, marmalade, or jam, but they’re not at all. They’re whole fruits gently preserved in syrup using a traditional Greek method. We also offer no-sugar-added flavors, which makes them even more unique. Educating customers about the tradition and explaining how different they are has been an important part of building the business.
Any shoutouts you want to make?
A huge shoutout to my customers and supporters who have believed in NostimoTX and continue to share our products with their friends and family. I’m also grateful to everyone who appreciates authentic Greek flavors and helps us bring a little taste of Greece to Texas!
