Hey! So nice to speak with you! Can you tell our readers a little bit more about yourself? Where are you originally from and where do you live now?
Nice to meet you too. My name is Sheilah Tritt and I grew up on a small farm in Marietta Georgia. We grew pumpkins along with a host of other fruits and vegetables. My favorite season is Fall, because of the gratitude for the harvest, the cool air, and the beauty of the season. The colors and the light are unmatched this time of year! I live in East Cobb, Georgia about 3 miles from where I grew up. Nice to meet you too! My name is Barbara Williams and I grew up in Gainesville Florida. I studied fashion design which took me into home decorating. I have used this gift throughout my career and life. I now reside in Acworth, Georgia.
Tell us one thing you love about where you live now?
For Sheilah, it's East Cobb is my hometown and the familiarity and connection with my faith, memories and favorite places make it a deep connection. Many life long family friends are here, and there is a lot of family history here. For Barbara, it's my church family.
Tell us a little bit more about what your company does and how it started? How does it help your customers?
Praise Pumpkins is a fresh pumpkin delivery and decorating mission with a heart for transforming porches into radiant spaces of light and praise. Our vision is simple yet powerful: to brighten homes with the beauty of Fall, inspire gratitude, and invite families to celebrate God’s goodness together. Each Praise Pumpkins display is designed to create a wow factor that not only elevates curb appeal but also stirs the spirit. Every package includes activities that encourage families to count their blessings, praise God for His faithfulness, and pass gratitude along to others. And, as a bonus, a classic porch photo captures the tradition year after year, building a legacy of faith and beauty. We believe porches are more than entrances—they are invitations. Invitations to pause, reflect, worship, and share the light of Christ with neighbors, family, and friends. The idea for Praise Pumpkins was planted during a Sunday service on the power of praise, blending a love for pumpkins with a passion for creating light-filled, photo-worthy porches. After holding onto the vision for some time, confirmation came when our pastor spoke at a revival about the importance of seeking counsel from mentors a generation ahead. Barbara Williams, already a dear mentor, became part of this journey when I invited her to lunch. Her encouragement and excitement that very day marked the official birth of Praise Pumpkins. What began as a seed of inspiration has grown into a mission: to bring light, joy, and praise into homes all across Metro Atlanta—one porch at a time.
What was one feedback from a happy customer/client that you won’t forget about?
This is our first year! We are excited, and it's so great to see the excitement building as we share our mission!
If someone wants to start a business, what's advice that will help them?
Finding mentors is one of the greatest keys to living a fulfilled and well –rounded life. Every area of life spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, financial, business, social, benefits from wise guidance. Look for those a generation or two ahead; people who have walked through life with wisdom and grace. Mentorship comes in many forms: family members, teachers, pastors, business owners have been some of our most cherished mentors. Books, podcasts, and classes that feed our mind, body, spirit and emotions with encouragement and knowledge are a great way to keep focus. We are always being mentored consciously or unconsciously by our environment. What we see and hear affects our thoughts and emotions. My favorite daily mentorship routine includes: a quiet cup of coffee, and a morning prayer call. Adding mentorship into daily habits = 10x transformation.
Where do you see your company in the future?
We look forward to continuing to give Glory to God and creating new ideas to celebrate stunning displays of God's blessings with our families, neighbors and friends through our porch decor!
What is the biggest misconception about your industry?
There is not a market for pumpkins on porches. Halloween is one of the most celebrated holidays represented by skeletons, death and darkness. We believe there is a Christian community that deeply desires bright and uplifting Christ honoring decor for our porches that invites love, light and beauty into our homes for the Fall season. Praise Pumpkins is a one stop personally curated porch display that encourages your family to write your own story in this holiday season of Fall and Thanksgiving!
What has been one of your biggest struggle building your business and how did you deal with it?
There is always struggle in a new business. For Praise Pumpkins, it is the farm to porch delivery process. Procuring the most colorful pumpkins and getting them here at just the right time and delivering them fresh. We are working closely with our grower to help us get them to our customers as fresh off the vines as possible!
What was your favorite music artist and athlete growing up?
We had a lot of musical influences in my family. My whole family was musical and played multiple instruments. My dad played the guitar and was always singing, mom played piano and sang in church with her sisters, my brother plays many instruments and sings. One of my favorite artists when I was very young was John Denver, music told stories and reflected simple life. Always cheering on the Braves!
